Two Arrests Following Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

The assault resulted in the partial shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

These detentions follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Police arrested a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault near the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people injured by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
