Zohran Mamdani Promises a 'Dawn' for The Big Apple in Maiden Address
On his first day in his new role, Zohran Mamdani vowed to “transform” New York City, promising “a different age” and an bold beginning to his term.
A Groundbreaking Mayor
The 34-year-old democratic socialist, who just a year ago remained a relatively obscure state assemblyman, is the city's first mayor of South Asian descent. He also made history by being the first to be sworn in using the Islamic holy text.

Mamdani now begins one of the most challenging jobs in American politics, with a agenda promising:
